Privacy Policy
Project 28 ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile game published by CRB Labs LLC. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.
Summary
The game has no accounts and stores your progress on your device. It sends us a small amount of anonymous information about how the game is played, described below, so we can see where players get stuck. To offer optional rewarded and interstitial ads and optional in-app purchases, the app also uses Google AdMob and the Apple App Store and Google Play billing systems; those services process a limited amount of data as described below. This website separately counts clicks on our short links, described below. We do not sell your data, and we do not use any of it to advertise to you.
Information the app itself collects
The game does not collect personal information, and there is no account to attach anything to.
- There are no user accounts and no login.
- Your game progress (levels reached, coins, unlocks, settings, purchases) is saved only on your device, not on our servers.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.
- Deleting the app removes this local data. It may also be included in your own device backups (iCloud or Google), which you control.
Anonymous play data
So we can tell where the game is too hard or unclear, the app sends us a short record of what happened as you play:
- when the game is first opened, and when a session starts
- whether you finished the tutorial, and how long it took
- which night you reached, how long the run lasted, and how it ended
- whether a purchase completed, and which item
- whether a rewarded ad was completed, and whether a full-screen ad was shown
Each installation is identified by a random code generated on your device the first time you open the game. That code is not your advertising identifier, it is not derived from anything about you or your device, and it is not connected to any name, email, or account. Reinstalling the game creates a new one.
This is sent over an encrypted connection to a server we run. Your device's IP address is necessarily visible to that server while the request is made, as it is for any internet connection. We do not store it, and we do not record your country or location.
We do not use this information to advertise to you, and we do not share it with anyone.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows optional ads: rewarded videos you choose to watch for in-game coins, and occasional full-screen ads between rounds. These are served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process device and usage information such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, and ad-interaction data.
- On iOS, the app asks for your permission before any tracking, via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, AdMob serves non-personalized ads.
- In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you are shown a consent message before ads are served, and your choice is recorded.
- You can buy Remove Ads in the app to turn off interstitial ads.
- Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosures.
In-app purchases
The app offers optional purchases (coin packs, Remove Ads, and content unlocks). Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive or store your payment card details. The stores provide us only aggregate, non-identifying sales information. Purchase entitlements are stored on your device and restored through the store's own "restore purchases" mechanism.
Links on this website
Some links on this site and in our social media profiles pass through a
short link on this domain (addresses beginning /r/) before
forwarding you to the App Store or Google Play. This is how we count how
many people a post actually sent to a store, since the social platforms
no longer report it.
When you follow one of those links we record:
- The short code you followed, and the time.
- Your browser's user-agent string, so we can send you to the right store.
- The page that referred you, when your browser sends one.
- Your country, derived at the edge. Never a finer location.
- A truncated one-way hash of your IP address, salted so it cannot be reversed. It exists only to spot a single person clicking repeatedly. The raw IP address is never stored.
No cookie is set, nothing is stored in your browser, and none of this is linked to a name, an account, or to the anonymous play data described above. It is not shared with advertisers. If you would rather not be counted, go to the App Store or Google Play and search for Project 28 instead of following the link.
Data we do not collect
- No names, emails, or accounts.
- No contacts, photos, files, location, or precise position.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. The play data above, and the link counts described above, go only to our own server.
- No selling of personal data.
Children
The app is rated for teen audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because advertising is present, we do not market the app to children, and the ad configuration requests non-personalized ads where required.
Your choices
- Decline App Tracking Transparency (iOS), or reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, for non-personalized ads.
- Purchase Remove Ads to disable interstitial ads.
- Open Pause → Privacy in the game to turn off sharing of play data at any time. Turning it off stops collection immediately and discards anything not yet sent.
- The same screen shows the random code for your installation and lets you delete everything we hold for it. Deleting also gives your installation a new code, so the old records cannot be linked to you again.
- Or email us at the address below quoting that code, and we will delete it for you.
- Delete the app to remove all local data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy at this URL.
